Shane Beamer does not expect Jalen Brooks to play in Gator Bowl
South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer gave an update on wide receiver Jalen Brooks’ status for the Gator Bowl. Unfortunately, for South Carolina fans, it looks like Brooks is going to miss the bowl game.
Shane Beamer was asked for an update on Jalen Brooks, having said he was doubtful to play on Monday.

“I would say he’s out at this point, for sure,” Shane Beamer said. “Certainly he’s been here working really hard for us this week. Don’t expect him to play tomorrow.”
It sounds pretty definite there that the Gamecocks will be without Brooks for the Gator Bowl then. That’s a pretty big loss for South Carolina as they take on a talented Notre Dame defense.
An experienced wide receiver who took a big jump forward for South Carolina this season, Jalen Brooks will end his 2022 season with 33 receptions for 504 yards and a touchdown.
South Carolina will play Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl on Friday, December 30th at 3:30 PM.
