Shane Beamer provides injury update on Mo Kaba, Jordan Strachan after Week 2 loss
South Carolina coach Shane Beamer updated the injury status for Jordan Strachan and Mo Kaba following the team’s Week 2 loss to Arkansas. Unfortunately, for South Carolina, it wasn’t good news in the short term.
“Jordan and Mo, we’ll see when we get back to Columbia,” Shane Beamer said in his post-game press conference. “But it doesn’t look good going forward.”
“We’ll say our prayers tonight. Hopefully, we get some good news. But, right now, it doesn’t look good.”

Once Shane Beamer was able to give more information, he confirmed that Mo Kaba and Jordan Strachan would be out for the next week against Georgia, at least.
“Mo Kaba and Jordan Strachan will certainly be out this week,” Shane Beamer said. “They won’t play against Georgia and we’ll have some more information for you on that once we’re able to talk to those guys a little bit more face to face, Mo and Jordan.”

Jordan Strachan was a consensus three-star edge rusher in the Class of 2017. He originally went to Georgia State but transferred to South Carolina. Strachan could be seen crying with family members in the tunnel following his injury. Meanwhile, Mo Kaba was a four-star linebacker in the Class of 2020. He left the Arkansas game with an apparent knee injury.
Shane Beamer is looking for more consistency
Shane Beamer is looking for more consistency during games from his teams. Unfortunately, the injuries are going to make that harder to find.
“Yeah, it’s concerning now,” Shane Beamer said. “We were already down one starter going into the game. We’re down two more right now. We’ve got depth but we’ve all got to step up. It’s not about one person, it’s about all 11. Those all 11 guys got to elevate their games and we’ve got to do a great job continuing to help them coaching wise.”
“Just to continue to be more consistent. We stopped ourselves a couple times. Had the opportunity to make some plays downfield and didn’t. It’s good to see us here those last couple drives. Should have gotten points on that two-minute drive. We weren’t very smart with a couple things. But like the way we’re playing. We talked all week: Get this thing to the fourth quarter. We’ve got a chance to do that now.”
