Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks have agreed to a contract extension, the program announced via X on Friday.

According to Kevin Miller of Gamecock Central, the contract gives Beamer a raise and extension, tying him to the program until the end of the 2030 campaign: “His salary, beginning in 2025, will increase to $8.15 Million. That number will grow by $100,000 annually during the life of the new contract,” Miller wrote. “That means that in 2030, Beamer is set to earn $8.65 Million.”

Prior to his extension, Beamer’s contract ran through 2027 and placed him in the bottom fourth of the SEC in annual compensation, per Miller. Now, he’ll be receiving a nice bump, and some added security as he hopes to build a contender with the Gamecocks, ranking ninth in the SEC in pay, and 15th nationally.

In a press release accompanying the announcement, South Carolina Athletics Director Jeremiah Donati stressed the belief that the Gamecocks are heading in the right direction with Beamer. South Carolina thinks the future is brighter than ever for the program.

“The culture and commitment to excellence that Coach Beamer has built in our football program shows that we are headed in the right direction and on a strong upward trajectory,” Donati said. “Coach Beamer has made clear his desire to be at the University of South Carolina, and this extension shows our collective support for him as the leader of our football program.”

Beamer’s 29-22 record is impressive, but it’s even more so when you consider the fact that he’s won more games through his first four seasons at Carolina than any other coach, one more than Steve Spurrier, the school’s all-time winningest coach, the press release noted. Moving forward, the team is hoping to take the next step, and compete for a national title.

“I’m proud to represent the University of South Carolina and to lead our football program as the head coach,” added Beamer. “Thank you to President Amirides, Thad Westbrook and the Board of Trustees, Ray Tanner and Jeremiah Donati for their trust and support. As I’ve said before, this is my dream job.

“My family and I love being here. We’ve accomplished a lot on and off the field over the past four years, but we’re not satisfied. There’s more to do and we’re just getting started.”

Beamer has been a revelation for South Carolina, and it’ll be interesting to see what he can build over the rest of the decade, as he won’t be leaving the Gamecocks anytime soon, it seems.
