Jordan Burch believes this spring was different, best he's been

As junior defensive end for the South Carolina Gamecocks, Jordan Burch begins his third year in the program, he took some time to reflect on this year’s spring practice. The six-foot-six defensive end and native of Columbia, SC, spoke to the media after the Gamecocks’ spring game. And he feels like this has been the best he’s played at South Carolina since joining the team.
“This spring was, it was a lot different for me,” Burch said. “I feel like this is probably the best football I’ve played since I’ve been here. You know working on a lot of different moves and just understand the plays a little bit better. but yeah this has probably been like the best football I have played since I’ve been here.”
Burch’s sophomore season with the Gamecocks was impressive in some ways and not in others However, it was still a solid campaign, especially given the fact that the Gamecocks just went through a coaching regime change. Last season he recorded 26 total tackles, 14 solo, had one sack, and one interception that he returned for a touchdown.
South Carolina lose fourth player to transfer portal on Monday
South Carolina Gamecock tight end Eric Shaw has entered the transfer portal, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz. The six-foot-five tight end recently transitioned over to the position after initially being recruited out of Alabama as a wide receiver. It was likely a move to attempt to gain more playing time after falling out of the rotation once shame Beamer took over the program last season.

After appearing sparingly in the Gamecocks 2020 season, Shaw did not see any action last year as the Gamecocks went on to finish the season with a 7-6 record and a victory over their rival, the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Shaw Is the fourth South Carolina player to enter the transfer portal. Earlier in the day, it was announced that the Gamecocks’ wide receiver E.J. Jenkins and defensive linemen Keem Green and Devontae Davis all entered the portal.
