South Carolina EDGE defender Elijah Davis has signed with Troy out of the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

He was previously a JUCO transfer into the program in 2023, arriving by way of East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Miss.

Elijah Davis arrived at South Carolina in January 2023, considered the top JUCO defensive tackle in the country. While he was initially penciled in at defensive tackle for the Gamecocks, he spent more time workign on at EDGE in his first year on campus.

He finished his first season with the Gamecocks with six tackles and one quarterback hurry, recording a season-best three tackles in a game against Tennessee.

Elijah Davis had minimal impact in 2024, though, and sought to find a new playing destination following the season.

While South Carolina is losing EDGE defender Elijah Davis via the transfer portal, it has also added some key pieces, especially on defense.

This past season, Cisse managed 28 total tackles with five passes defended. He ranks as the No. 69 overall player and No. 9 cornerback in the portal according to On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings.
