It’s truly a Full House at South Carolina as the Gamecocks welcome some talented newcomers to Columbia. That’s why their video announcing them was appropriate — and ’90s kids everywhere are sure to love it.

South Carolina dropped a video Friday hyping up their newcomers with a parody of the “Full House” intro. Coach Shane Beamer led things off and the Gamecocks introduced fans to all of the fresh faces they can expect to see this season.

Whatever happened to predictability, anyway?

South Carolina brought in the nation’s No. 27 recruiting class this year, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. Four-star linebacker Stone Blanton headlined the class as the only Gamecocks recruit in the On300, coming in as the No. 283 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Blanton is also the No. 30 linebacker in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus.

But the Gamecocks did major work in the transfer portal, notably landing former Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler — the No. 5 transfer to hit the portal this offseason, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

One of Rattler’s former targets, Austin Stogner, is also heading to South Carolina via the portal. Stogner was the No. 67-ranked transfer in the portal, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings, and reunites with Beamer. Before he was the Gamecocks’ headman, Beamer served as the tight ends coach at Oklahoma from 2018 to 2020.

All told, the Gamecocks brought in nine transfers, including two former four-star recruits. Former Georgia cornerback Lovasea Carroll is also in the fold.

South Carolina is coming off a 7-6 overall record last year in Beamer’s first year at the helm, including a 3-5 record in SEC play. The Gamecocks appeared in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl and defeated North Carolina — meaning Beamer had to take a bath in mayonnaise afterward.
