South Carolina forward Ashlyn Watkins dunks vs TCU, Aliyah Boston goes crazy
South Carolina forward Ashlyn Watkins brought the house down with a dunk Sunday evening against TCU, leading to an emphatic reaction from Gamecocks alum Aliyah Boston.
Just moments after having her own pocket picked, Watkins made a steal and took off in transition down the court, making her way to the rim for the slam. Boston, who was in attendance at Dickies Arena in Forth Worth, let out a big cheer and jumped up and down in celebration. You can view the moment below.
It was an exciting moment in the eventual 85-52 victory for South Carolina. The Gamecocks improved to 9-1 on the season while handing the No. 9 Horned Frogs their first loss.
Watkins finished the game with six points, two steals, two rebounds, one assist and one block in the win. MiLaysia Filwiley ended with a team-high 20 points to go along with three steals.
Watkins now has a dunk in each of her three seasons with the Gamecocks. She was the first player in program history to ever record a dunk in a game, doing so against Clemson during her true freshman season.

Watkins also record a dunk last season in at home in a game against Kentucky, going the length of the court for the jam.
So far this season, Watkins is averaging 7.5 points per game along with 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
Boston likewise is a South Carolina alum who helped the Gamecocks to a national championship in the 2021-22 season. She now plays for the Indiana Fever and is one of the key players alongside Caitlin Clark.
