South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has been busy making a number of important hires for his coaching staff this offseason. On Thursday evening, it was reported by Pete Thamel of ESPN that the Gamecocks are hiring Tyler Zielenske to be a special teams’ analyst on their staff. Previously, he worked with Texas State, Pittsburgh, the Memphis Tigers, and the South Alabama Jaguars.

He was a quality control coach for South Alabama in 2017. Zielenske also served as a grad assistant for the Jaguars in 2018 and 2019. He got his undergraduate degree at Mercer in 2016, where he earned a bachelor’s in business administration. Now, he’s joining one of the hottest young coaches in college football in Shane Beamer.

It’s just yet another hire that Beamer has made this offseason, and he just got finished bringing in a new offensive coordinator to replace Marcus Satterfield, who moved onto to Nebraska to work under Matt Rhule.

South Carolina also hired their new offensive coordinator

South Carolina also announced earlier this offseason that they were hiring Arkansas tight ends coach Dowell Loggains as their new offensive coordinator. Loggains spent the last two years in Fayetteville as tight ends coach following 12 years as an NFL assistant.

Loggains, who attended Arkansas as a student, got his coaching start with the Tennessee Titans as a quality control coach from 2008-09. From there, he moved up to quarterbacks coach from 2010-11 and offensive coordinator from 2012-13. He then spent 2014 as the Cleveland Browns’ quarterbacks coach before three years with the Chicago Bears, starting as quarterbacks coach in 2015 and moving up to offensive coordinator in 2016 and 2017.

In 2018, Loggains became the Miami Dolphins’ offensive coordinator before taking the same role with the New York Jets from 2019-20. He latched on at Arkansas in June 2021.

Satterfield was South Carolina’s offensive coordinator for the last two years as Beamer took over the program. Under his watch, the Gamecocks went from the No. 13 scoring offense in the SEC in 2021 to the eighth-ranked scoring unit in the league this year.
