Alabama transfer Nick Pringle expected to visit South Carolina this weekend
Alabama basketball transfer Nick Pringle is visiting South Carolina this weekend, according to Wes Mitchell of GamecockCentral.
Pringle is a South Carolina native who entered the transfer portal earlier this month. He averaged 6.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season while helping Alabama to the Final Four.
Adding Nick Pringle is clearly a priority for South Carolina head coach Lamont Paris, who just wrapped up his second season with the Gamecocks.
Paris led South Carolina to a 26-8 record in 2023-24 as the Gamecocks finished tied for second in the SEC after being picked to finish last.
Nick Pringle played in 34 games for Alabama last season, making 16 starts. He averaged 6.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during Alabama’s run in the NCAA Tournament. Pringle also led the Crimson Tide in field goal percentage, shooting 62.3 percent from the field.
Prior to starting his college career, Pringle attended Whale Branch High in Seabrook, South Carolina.
From there, he went to Wofford College for the 2020-21 season. Pringle then transferred to Dodge City Community College and was ranked as one of the best JUCO players in the country.
Pringle played 36 games at Alabama during the 2022-23 season, averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He had a strong year this past season before entering the portal.

Missouri transfer forward Jordan Butler commits to South Carolina
South Carolina has already landed a commitment from one former SEC player in former Missouri forward Jordan Butler.
In Butler’s lone season at Mizzou, he made 31 appearances and 14 starts. The 7-footer averaged 2.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 39.7% from he field and 16.0% from beyond the arc.
Jordan Butler played high school basketball at Christ Church Episcopal School (SC), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 93 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Butler originally chose Missouri over Auburn and South Carolina. Butler’s mother played at South Carolina and both of his parents graduated from the university. He is the younger brother of former Florida State forward John Butler.
Missouri finished this past season with a 8-24 record while failing to win a single game in conference play. It was a significant step backward for head coach Dennis Gates, who led the team to an 11-7 mark against SEC foes in his debut campaign at the helm in 2022-23.
Butler is the first player South Carolina has added in the transfer portal this offseason. The team lost Meechie Johnson and Ebrima Dibba in the transfer portal. Johnson committed to Ohio State on April 2.
