South Carolina’s Nick Pringle has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.

On3’s Joe Tipton reported his entry into the portal this afternoon. With it, Tipton noted that Pringle also intends to test for the 2025 NBA Draft.

“NEWS: South Carolina big man Nick Pringle is entering the transfer portal, he told @On3sports,” Tipton tweeted on Monday. “Will also test the NBA Draft waters.”

Pringle just finished his one year at South Carolina after transferring in following two seasons at Alabama, one at Dodge City Community College, and one at Wofford. That brought him to 117 games in Division I with the Terriers, Crimson Tide, and Gamecocks, including 48 starts the past two seasons as he was a full-time starter this year in Columbia. He had the most successful years of his career at ‘Bama, though, when the Tide won two conference titles and, in the postseason, reached a Sweet 16 in 2023 and a Final Four in 2024.

Over his college career in the NCAA, Pringle has averaged 5.9 points (63.2% FG) and 4.4 rebounds. That included career highs this season as a graduate student with 9.5 points (57.2% FG), 6.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.

Pringle is a native of Seabrook, South Carolina, just two and a half hours southeast of Columbia. He played high school basketball there at Whale Branch.

Per the latest in On3’s Top Transfer Portal Players, Pringle is the No. 66 overall transfer in the portal. He’s also the No. 18 PF in that ranking.

With this, Pringle is the fourth of the portal entries to this point of the cycle for South Carolina. As of the end of last week, Zachary Davis (8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals) and Arden Conyers (4.3 points, 1.2 rebounds) are both already in the portal with Austin Herro also planning to enter the portal as well.

Pringle has an extra season of eligibility now after the ruling regarding years at JUCOs. It’s now a question of if he’ll use it, or where he will use it too, or if he’ll go to the next level with this news today.
