South Carolina offering high-profile wide receivers amidst coaching changes
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has been dealing with some major coaching staff turnover ahead of the 2024 season.
Among the positions impacted by those coaching changes, wide receiver has seen plenty of flux just across the past couple of months. As the Gamecocks head into spring practice, Mike Furrey is the third WRs coach in Columbia this year.
Despite the influx, South Carolina is aiming to recruit the wideout position at a high level. SC’s lone commitment in the 2025 cycle, as of March 4, is Florence (S.C.) South three-star WR Jayden Sellers.
Across the past few days, the program has sent out multiple offers to some of the top receivers in the 2025 cycle.

5-star WR Kaliq Lockett
The No. 19 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, Lockett is an elite recruit out of Sachse (Texas) High who announced an offer from the Gamecocks on Sunday.
Spring visits to Florida State, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas, LSU and Texas A&M are all currently on the docket for Lockett — who is currently trending to the Longhorns, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
“Lockett brings elite length (34.5-inch arms at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds) and big-play ability, turning in a 1,299 yard, 13 touchdown junior season,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote of the WR on Feb. 26.

4-star WR Isaiah Mozee
The 6-foot, 190-pounder out of Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North has continued to emerge in 2025 rankings, now checking in at No. 113 overall and No. 12 at WR in the On3 Industry Ranking. Mozee’s recruitment is shaping up to be a battle between the likes of Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Oregon, but the Gamecocks offered over the weekend.
The Sooners are currently trending in the On3 RPM, however, Oregon insider Justin Hopkins logged a pick in favor of the Ducks in February. Mozee has set an official visit to Mizzou in June.
4-star WR Adrian Wilson — Oregon commit
Pflugerville (Texas) Weiss’ Adrian Wilson has been pledged to Dan Lanning and Oregon since July, when he flipped to the Ducks from TCU. South Carolina opted to get in the mix with an offer on Saturday.
In-state programs are also making a run at Wilson — mainly Texas and Texas A&M. Wilson is now the No. 126 overall prospect and No. 15 WR in the 2025 cycle. Pulling him away from his pledge to Oregon will likely be a tough challenge.
