OL Kam Pringle was one of the top recruits on the offensive line in his class just a cycle ago. Now, after one season at his in-state school, he’ll be headed elsewhere.

Pringle has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. He has also made that news official now on social media with a post on Monday.

“First off, I would like to thank God for putting me in this position! I want to thank the University of South Carolina, the amazing coaching staff, my teammates, the fans, and everyone associated with the university who have had a hand in my success during my time spent here.” Pringle wrote on his graphic. “To South Carolina, thank you for the lifelong friendships and memories. I am appreciative of the opportunities I’ve received here.”

“After discussing with my family and thinking long and hard on my decision, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining,” wrote Pringle. “I look forward to the opportunities God has in store for me!”

Pringle appeared in one game over last fall for South Carolina with some snaps during their final game of September. That would end up with him redshirting, which gives him those four years of college eligibility left to use at his next program.

Pringle, a native of Dorchester, played his high school football at Woodland. He was the No. 269 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2024 cycle. He also rated as the No. 18 OT in the class and the No. 3 player out of the state of South Carolina after only OT Josiah Thompson (South Carolina) and WR Braylon Staley (Tennessee). That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. That made him one of the top-rated signees for the Gamecocks in their Top-20 class in ’24.

Pringle is now the latest portal loss of the offseason for South Carolina. He joins CB Emory Floyd and DE Wendell Gregory who have also entered their names in during the spring cycle. Gregory, though, was available for just a day as he had already since committed to Oklahoma State. That trio makes it 19 total departures this offseason from the program in Columbia.
