South Carolina RB Djay Braswell plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
South Carolina running back Djay Braswell plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Braswell did not register any stats this year. As a freshman in 2023, he ran the ball 12 times for 25 yards and caught three passes for 35 yards.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Braswell was a four-star recruit out of Sandersville (Ga.) Washington County, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 22 overall prospect in the state, the No. 15 running back in the class and the No. 248 overall prospect in the class.

With Braswell done at South Carolina, he’ll look elsewhere to continue his college career. Meanwhile, South Carolina and Shane Beamer will await, perhaps, a trip to the College Football Playoff or an upper tier bowl game this postseason.

“I do believe we deserve a spot in the 12-team playoff. I get it, the committee has a really tough job. They have to choose the 12 best teams. I get it,” Shane Beamer said. “We’ve got three losses. I understand that. But it’s hard for me to sit here and say that we’re not one of the 12 best teams in the country when you look at our strength of schedule, when you look at our wins, on the road.
“I think we’re now 4-1 on the road this year, in tough environments. We’re not going and playing in front of 20,000 people on the road, like some teams do in this country. We go into hostile environments every single week. And our only loss on the road is a two-point loss.”
