South Carolina trending for 4-star CB Shamari Earls
Last month, Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls named his top 10 schools. South Carolina was among that group, and now the Gamecocks look to be in pole position for his pledge.
Shane Beamer’s program is heavily trending for Earls, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). On Thursday, South Carolina recruiting insider Chris Clark logged a pick in favor of the Gamecocks landing the blue-chipper.
GamecockCentral’s Wes Mitchell did the same last month. The SEC school now sits with an 89.7% edge in the RPM.
Earls has been to Columbia and has also locked in an official visit for May 31-June 2. Other SEC schools like Texas A&M, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia have recently had Earls on campus, but none have found momentum in his recruitment like the Gamecocks.
“The feedback we heard from a somewhat recent unofficial to Columbia was incredibly positive. An early RPM for the Gamecocks here may be a bit premature but he’s definitely a prospect South Carolina fans should be paying more attention to in terms of potentially being in the class,” Mitchell wrote upon logging his prediction.
Official visits to Virginia and Duke are also on the docket for Earls — the No. 124 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 12 CB and No. 4 player in Virginia, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 ranks Earls higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 70 overall and is a top-10 corner in the updated 2025 On300 rankings.

South Carolina Class Breakdown
Things have finally started to pick up for Beamer’s pledge list this month, as three prospects have committed to USC in April.
Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson four-star wide receiver Brian Rowe is the lone blue-chipper in the fold and is a top-400 recruit overall. He committed on April 9 and followed by Abbeville (S.C.) three-star safety Damarcus Leach less than 24 hours later. Sumter (S.C.) three-star EDGE Anthony Addison then joined two days later on April 12.
“I love how they plan on using me,” Addison told On3 upon his commitment. “It is close to home. It is only 50 minutes, so I know all my family will be able to come and see me. Coach Beamer, he stayed on me. I know I am going somewhere where the head coach believes in me and believes in what I can do.”
South Florence (S.C.) three-star WR Jayden Sellers has been pledged to the Gamecocks since October. The quartet of commits currently ranks No. 31 in the nation and No. 12 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
