Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy five-star EDGE Dylan Stewart has taken numerous trips to South Carolina throughout his recruitment. At one point South Carolina held a lead in his recruitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) before being surpassed by Ohio State.

The 6-foot-5.5, 240-pounder is back in Columbia this weekend for an official visit and announced his top five of GeorgiaMarylandMiamiOhio State and South Carolina Friday afternoon.

Following recent industry updates, the Gamecocks have reclaimed the top spot for Stewart in the RPM. They currently have a 38.% chance to land his pledge while Ohio State sits at 29.5% and Miami at 23%.

Gamecock Central’s Joseph Hastings submitted an expert prediction for Stewart to commit to Gamecocks Friday afternoon. His confidence level was at 60%.

“South Carolina has been consistent with me. Coach Shane Beamer and Coach Sterling Lucas have done a good job recruiting me,” Stewart told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I have enjoyed my visits down there and I like what they are trying to build.”

Stewart is the No. 7 overall prospect and No. 2 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in D.C.

On3 ranks Stewart as the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2024 On300.

Stewart currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $320K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

South Carolina building towards top-10 class

Shane Beamer and his staff landed one of the biggest wins of the 2023 recruiting cycle when another five-star D.C. recruit in Nyckoles Harbor announced his pledge to the Gamecocks on National Signing Day.

Harbor was the gem of that class like Stewart could be for their 2024 class.

Currently South Carolina has the No. 11 class in the country and the No. 4 class in the SEC. They have 12 pledges so far highlighted by a pair of top-100 offensive tackles in Josiah Thompson and Kam Pringle.

Pringle and Thompson are two of the eight four-star pledges currently committed to the Gamecocks. They have three four-star defensive commits in linebacker Wendell Gregory, safety Kelvin Hunter and cornerback Braydon Lee.
