The top team in the SEC has fallen as Texas A&M suffered a 44-20 loss at the hands of South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday. The Gamecocks took control from the start and did not let up on their way to victory.

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers was huge in the win to come away with 244 yards passing and three total touchdowns to no interceptions. He helped South Carolina hand the Aggies their first SEC loss in the process as the Gamecocks improved to 5-3 (3-3 SEC) on the year.

Aggies fans celebrated by storming the field following the big victory. You can view the moment below.

South Carolina jumped out to a 14-3 lead by the end of the first quarter but A&M rallied back to tie things up at 20 entering halftime. The Gamecocks opened the second half with a touchdown run from Raheim Sanders to start the third quarter.

That would be the start of 24 unanswered points to end the game for South Carolina. Sanders finished with 144 yards and two touchdowns, both of which came in the second half.

South Carolina is now only one win away from becoming bowl eligible for the third time in four years under coach Shane Beamer. The Gamecocks next have a matchup Vanderbilt set for 4:15 p.m. ET next Saturday in Nashville.
