Spencer Rattler is calling on voters alike to bring South Carolina into the Top 25.

After a couple of fantastic wins, Rattler believes it’s time for the Gamecocks to get some respect put on their name. Following a tremendous victory over Texas A&M on Saturday, the star quarterback explained why he believes it’s time.

“I mean, when are we going to be ranked, you know?” answered Rattler, asked about the mentality in the locker room. “We had two great games. We’re very happy. Coach Beamer’s excited. That’s the first time we ever beat A&M. We knew this was a huge game, one of the biggest ones of the season. So we were locked in all week. We expected to come out here and win. Like I said, against Kentucky we didn’t hope to win, we came here and expected to win.

“The crowd was amazing tonight, caused a lot of problems for them and helped us and were on our side, so our mindset and our mentality is very happy right now, but knowing we’ve still got a lot ahead of us coming up.”

While South Carolina started their season sputtering to a 1-2 record, they’re reminding the college football world why they were pretty highly touted entering the 2022 season. Since a 48-7 drubbing at the hands of Georgia, the Gamecocks haven’t lost, capturing four straight victories to recapture their season.

In particular, Rattler has improved over recent games, leading the Gamecocks offense to victories over stout opponents like Kentucky and the aforementioned Aggies. On the season, the South Carolina quarterback has passed for 1,466 passing yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions, rushing for a touchdown as well.

Moving forward, South Carolina will look to continue their success against the best the SEC has to offer. If Spencer Rattler and company are able to do so, there’s no doubt they’ll be ranked, if they aren’t already put in the Top 25 following their performance in Week 8.
