3-star ATH Tyshawn Russell commits to South Carolina
Harrisburg (Penn.) Bishop McDevitt three-star athlete Tyshawn Russell has committed to South Carolina. He chose the Gamecocks after taking an official visit to Columbia this weekend.
Russell is the No. 1,312 overall prospect and No. 71 athlete in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 29 player in Pennsylvania.
“The atmosphere and the family and the culture and being around the recruits and the players,” Russell told Wes Mitchell of GamecockCentral about his official to the Gamecocks. “They made me feel like family right away.”

Russell and Carrollton (Ga.) four-star Vicari Swain are the two athletes pledged to head coach Shane Beamer and his staff. South Carolina’s highest-ranked recruit is Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman four-star interior offensive lineman Markee Anderson, the No. 119 overall prospect and No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 On300.
Russell has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
