Report: Vanderbilt transfer quarterback AJ Swann expected to commit to South Carolina

Vanderbilt quarterback transfer AJ Swann is expected to commit to South Carolina after visiting the program this weekend, according to a report from 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Swann spent two seasons at Vanderbilt, where he split time at quarterback. He threw for 1,457 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions during the 2023 season.

He has a considerable amount of arm talent and could offer the Gamecocks a quality option at the quarterback position. He’s also got plenty of SEC experience at this point, which can prove invaluable.

In two years, Swann has logged 2,731 passing yards, with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Prior to enrolling at Vanderbilt, AJ Swann was a three-star prospect and the No. 449 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He was also ranked as the No. 25 quarterback in his class and the No. 43 overall player in the state of Georgia, hailing from Canton (GA) Cherokee.
