In his senior year at Valdosta, Rodemaker threw 42 touchdowns, completing 66.8% of his passes for 3,225 yards while leading Wildcats to third round of AAAAAA state playoffs. For his efforts, he was named the named GACA Player of the Year.
Rodemaker isn’t the only one who won’t be Southern Miss next season. On Oct. 20, Southern Miss athletic director Jeremy McClain announced that the university was parting ways with head coach Will Hall.
“We are grateful to Will and his family for their dedication to Southern Miss over the past four years,” McClain said. “Will poured his heart and soul into this program and into shaping these young men. Unfortunately, the results on the field didn’t align with our shared goals and expectations.”
The program still hasn’t found its next head coach. Tate Rodemaker won’t stick around to find out who it is, instead opting to search for a new home across the college football landscape.
