2022 EDGE Jaxson Moi flips from Cal to rival Stanford
San Diego Cathedral Catholic three-star EDGE Jaxson Moi traded one part of the Bay Area for another Saturday when he decommitted from Cal and flipped to Stanford.
Moi joins a Stanford class — and, more specifically, a Cardinal defensive line recruiting class — headlined by Arlington (Texas) Martin four-star EDGE Ernest Cooper IV. Cooper is the No. 38 recruit in the 2022 On300.
Franklin (Tenn.) High offensive tackle Fisher Anderson, Washington (D.C.) St. John’s cornerback Joshua Thompson and Honolulu Punahou linebacker Tevarua Tafiti also make up one of the better recruiting classes in the Pac-12 conference.
Jaxson Moi is the fourth player to decommit from Cal’s recruiting class
It has been a tough season for the Golden Bears on the football field. They finally picked up their first Pac-12 victory of the season yesterday over Colorado after losing their first three conference matchups.
Those struggles have also found their way onto the recruiting trail, where the Golden Bears have lost four commitments this recruiting cycle.

Norco (Calif.) High three-star running back Jaydn Ott started the trend when he decommitted on Sept. 16. He has since gone on visits to Colorado and Wisconsin and picked up an offer from USC.
Inglewood (Calif.) High four-star quarterback Justyn Martin — the No. 132 overall recruit in the 2022 On300 — was the second player to decommit from the class in September. Martin is now committing again Thursday, and is believed to be choosing between Michigan, Ole Miss and UCLA.
Hamilton (Ohio) High three-star running back Kaleb Johnson flipped to Iowa from the Golden Bears earlier this month after watching the Hawkeyes defeat Penn State in a five matchup at Kinnick Stadium.
And now Jaxson Moi has flipped to their fiercest rival in Stanford.
The Golden Bears still have a decent recruiting class of 10 right now but the talent they lost would have made it one of the better classes in the Pac-12. They now have a class ranking in the bottom half of the conference.
