Stanford offers top-25 OT Brandon Baker
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker picked up an offer from Stanford Wednesday afternoon. He announced the news on Twitter.
Baker is the No. 25 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in California.
The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pounder holds several Power Five offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Oregon as the heavy favorite to land a commitment from Baker at 83.1%.
Baker’s most recent visit came to another in-state school as he visited USC for the 10th time on March 17. He’s also visited Miami, Colorado and Washington so far this spring.
“He’s genuine,” Baker told On3 regarding USC offensive line coach Josh Henson. “He’s really trying to prioritize me and make me feel like that — really trying hard to recruit me.
“Coach (Lincoln) Riley is a real cool dude. He wants to emphasize the long-term stability at USC for the coming years. That’s not really the case at a lot of other places.”
This weekend Baker will be at Nebraska with several other top 2024 prospects before visiting Ohio State on Monday.

“USC and Oregon are definitely showing that to me,” Baker said about schools making him feel like a priority. “So is Michigan. (Co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Sherrone) Moore is definitely trying to emphasize I’m one of the top guys in my class. He loves my film. Same with Ohio State. (Offensive line coach Justin) Frye, a guy that I have a strong relationship with. Down the line, definitely looking forward to that, as well.”
Brandon Baker currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $185K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Stanford’s 2024 recruiting class
Stanford’s 2024 recruiting class currently has two commitments so far. They are West Bloomfield (Mich.) three-star cornerback Jamir Benjamin and Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian three-star wide receiver Chase Farrell.
The Cardinal wrapped up the 2023 recruiting cycle with 18 signees but were unable to sign any four or five-star prospects. Stanford’s 2023 class ranked No. 42 in the country falling 21 spots from where they were in 2022 while also ranking as No. 7 class in the Pac-12.
