2024 DL Jacobi Murray commits to Stanford
Atlanta (Ga.) Holy Innocents Episcopal School defensive lineman Jacobi Murray announced his commitment to Stanford on Sunday. He chose the Cardinal over offers from Georgia Tech, Kansas, Minnesota and Virginia among others.
Murray is not ranked in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking or the 2024 On300. He is now the third member of Stanford’s 2024 recruiting class alongside West Bloomfield (Mich.) three-star cornerback Jamir Benjamin and Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian three-star wide receiver Chase Farrell.
Stanford is heading into its first season under new head coach Troy Taylor. He succeeded David Shaw, who stepped down following the 2022 season.
Right now, Benjamin is the No. 462 overall prospect and No. 43 cornerback in the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also the No. 10 player in Michigan.
“I committed to Stanford because that was a life-changing decision,” Benjamin told On3’s Jeremy Johnson on March 24. “You really can’t beat the degree, the education and I’m out there in California playing in the Pac 12. I’m setting myself up to be successful and putting my family in the best position.”
“I’ve got to talk to my family about it but at this point, I’m just locked in with Stanford,” he added.
“Man I’ve always watched the Legion of Boom and Richard Sherman since I was a kid,” Benjamin also shared. “I wanted dreads like him. He played at Stanford, so I wanted to follow in his footsteps.”

Meanwhile, Farrell is the No. 966 overall prospect and No. 128 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 82 player in California.

The Cardinal are also off to a good start in the 2025 cycle. Slinger (Wis.) interior offensive lineman Charlie Hoitink chose Stanford on March 16.
Last cycle, Stanford’s 2023 class finished No. 42 in the 2023 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 7 in the Pac-12. The Cardinal’s group was led by Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco three-star cornerback Jshawn Frausto-Ramos.
Stanford landed signatures from two other top-500 prospects in Bainbridge (Ga.) Robert F. Munroe Day School three-star wide receiver Ahmari Borden and Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan three-star quarterback Myles Jackson. Other top-1,000 recruits to choose the Cardinal included Miami Christopher Columbus three-star running back Sedrick Irvin Jr., Murrieta (Calif.) Murrieta Valley three-star wide receiver Tiger Bachmeier and Las Vegas Bishop Gorman three-star interior offensive lineman Zak Yamauchi.
