OL Kahlil House commits to Stanford: ‘It was a no brainer’
Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County 2024 three-star interior offensive lineman Kahlil House felt Stanford was a ‘no-brianer’.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive lineman has committed to the Cardinal after a strong official visit. House went to Palo Alto not expecting to commit to Stanford. He had serious intrigue in Auburn, Ole Miss, Cincinnati and UCF.
He took official visits to all of those programs. After his weekend at Stanford, House had a few major boxes checked off. House had his reservations about Stanford going into his official visit.
“I didn’t know how I would feel about being this far away from home,” House told On3. “With the resources that I have here, it really just became a no-brainer.”
The Stanford coaching staff clicked with House.
“The coaches are amazing, Coach V (Viane Talamaivao), Coach Al Netter, Coach Troy (Taylor), all of them, I just met them and I feel like I’ve known them for a while,” House said.
House believes in Taylor’s plan for Stanford. He feels Stanford is heading toward success.
“The players there now are hungry, they want to win,” House said. “With coach Troy’s plan, I believe Stanford could be one of the top schools in the nation in the years to come especially with what he’s doing offensively and defensively. It’s crazy.”

Stanford education and atmosphere won over Kahlil House
House is joining a high school teammate, Ricky Johnson, at Stanford. Johnson didn’t sell House on Stanford. He simply told him ‘you’ll see when you get there’.
House saw the academic layout as a Stanford athlete. House has been heavily focused on academics throughout his recruitment. He wants to major in cybersecurity.
“The education is amazing,” House said. “You can have whatever major you want and they’ll work around football. I don’t have to worry about my major getting in the way of football. They have ways of working around football whatever major you want. It’s beautiful… That played a big role for me. The education has always been a major point stressed by my parents. They wanted me to choose a place that would help me with football and off the field. They didn’t want me to go somewhere if I’m done playing I’d be stuck asking what I’m going to do with the rest of my life. I’m not going to be in the league for the rest of my life. I have to have something to do once I’m done playing football. This is a place where I can do that.”
House also fell in love with the scenery around the Palo Alto campus.
“It’s literally beautiful out there,” House said. “You can’t beat the weather. The scenery is great. The people here are very nice. Outside and inside of Stanford people are just really polite and respectful. It’s just good vibes there. It just became a no-brainer when I got there.”
