Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee declares for 2023 NFL Draft
Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, he announced via Twitter on Thursday night.
McKee was originally a high four-star recruit, being a top 10 quarterback in the 2018 class. He spent six seasons in total with the Cardinal but was only a starter over the last two years. If McKee wanted to come back for another year, he could have. Stanford only listed him as a junior on their official roster.
During the 2022 season, McKee played in all 12 games for Stanford. He threw for 2,947 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
Quarterback is always the most hotly contested position in the draft, especially at the top. Those guys have been known for some time now and will be surefire first-round picks. McKee will have the opportunity throughout the process to better himself and improve his draft stock.
There is a long list of quarterbacks that have come out of Stanford and become successful in the NFL. McKee is hoping to be the latest after an impressive college career.
