Troy Taylor and the Stanford Cardinal program is hot on the recruiting trail. The Pac-12 program in Palo Alto had 19 commitments entering June 18 and 15 of those have committed in June. You can now make that 16 commitments this month and they are up to 20.

Former Ole Miss commit Chris Davis has given a pledge to the Cardinal.

“I felt Stanford was the best fit for me,” Davis told On3. “Stanford has the sports and academics. It is the No. 1 education in the world. My commitment is a lifetime decision and Stanford has the best of both worlds. You can’t beat it.”

This time last week, Davis was in Palo Alto on an official visit. He was also committed to Ole Miss. The three-star running back out of Picayune (Miss.) Picayune Memorial recommitted shortly after he returned him from that trip.

This commitment is different for the 6-foot, 182-pound playmaker.

“I took my time with this decision. I thought about it more. Going out to Stanford really opened my eyes. I got on campus and I loved it. I really started feeling it on the second day of the visit. After I got home, I talked it over and thought about it more, then about two days after the visit, I knew 100% Stanford was the school.”

Davis welcomes the change in Palo Alto

The coaches at Stanford welcomed Davis last weekend. They had energy. He felt the love. When they picked up his commitment, they were excited about that too. Davis is going across the country and he welcomes the change.

“It is definitely different up there, but I loved it. The food is different, the people are different, the climate is different, the atmosphere is different and the lifestyle is different. But it feels right for me.

“It is the spot for me to build something for myself. It is great for networking, I like their plan for me at running back and I will be part of Stanford getting back to the top. Coach Taylor is a winner, the program sets me up for life and the change will be exciting.”
