Pennington (N.J.) Hun School three-star defensive lineman Kole Briehler has committed to Stanford, he announced on Wednesday morning.

Despite being over 2,500 miles away from campus, Briehler provided the Cardinal with the good news after taking his official visit to Palo Alto over the weekend. He held 23 other Power Four offers, including Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan and others.

Briehler is the No. 533 overall prospect and No. 47 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 18 player in New Jersey.

The addition of Briehler gives Troy Taylor and his staff commitment No. 13 this cycle. Earlier this week, Dallas South Oak Cliff three-star offensive tackle Emeka Ugorji made the call in favor of the Cardinal. Stanford’s class ranks No. 33 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Taylor and Co. are trying to get the Cardinal back on the right track on the gridiron as the program makes the geographically-puzzling move to the ACC. Stanford is in the mix for multiple five-stars this cycle and is fresh off a major official visit weekend to kick off June.

Earlier this week, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a major prediction in the On3 RPM in favor of the Cardinal landing Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest five-star OT Andrew Babalola, the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle.

“You have to start with the elite academics at Stanford,” Babalola previously said of the Cardinal. “That separates them from others, but they have a good tradition in football too. Coach Troy Taylor is bringing the program back and I like his vision for the program.”

Stanford also made the top five for Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian five-star IOL Josh Petty on Tuesday. Some major trench monsters could wind up in Palo Alto come this winter.
