Stanford LB Aaron Armitage enters NCAA transfer portal

Stanford linebacker Aaron Armitage has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Armitage, who was a redshirt sophomore this past year, played three seasons at Stanford, where he logged 22 total tackles and two sacks over that time. This season he logged four totaled tackles and one sack while only seeing action in four games, where he recorded one tackle a piece in each of those outings.
He was most productive as a sophomore, playing in eight games where he made 15 tackles and recorded one tackle for loss. As a true freshman in 2021, he appeared in three games which allowed him to retain the ability to redshirt. He made the first sack of his career during the season finale against Notre Dame.
He is a former four-star recruit, per the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 204 overall player in the 2021 class, the No. 18 EDGE in his cycle and No. 2 player out of his home state of New Jersey.
During his time in high school, he made the 2019 All-State team in New Jersey having recorded 10.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss across 60 tackles during a six-game span that year.

Moore hardly saw the field during his two seasons in Starkville. He didn’t play as a true freshman in 2022, then appeared in five games in 2023.
Moore played high school football at Poplarville (Miss.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 586 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
With multiple years of eligibility remaining and plenty of tread left on the tire, Moore will surely find a landing spot in the portal, and he’s likely seeking one where he can play early and often.
