Stanford legend Andrew Luck in 2022 College Football Hall of Fame class
Stanford Cardinal standout quarterback Andrew Luck learned that he’ll enter the College Football Hall of Fame’s 2022 class on Monday.
“I’m so honored to be a member of the Class of 2022 College Football Hall of Fame,” Luck said. “I have to say a big thank you to everyone at Stanford, especially my coaches, teammates and wife.”
Luck put together a record-setting career at Stanford that saw him claim numerous national awards and honors. A native of Houston, Texas, Luck becomes the 19th Cardinal player to join the College Football Hall of Fame.
He won the 2011 Maxwell, Walter Camp and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm awards. He was also a two-time runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2010 and 2011.
Over the course of his Stanford career, Luck posted a 31-7 record as a starter. He passed for 9,430 yards and 82 touchdowns, while also adding 957 yards and seven more touchdowns on the ground.

The pride and joy of the Cardinal went No. 1 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft to the Indianapolis Colts. He earned four-time Pro Bowl nominations and won the 2018 Comeback Player of the Year award. In his rookie season, he set the NFL record for passing yards by a first-year quarterback with 4,373 yards. During his seven-year career, Luck passed for 23,671 yards and 171 touchdowns.
Andrew Luck raises eyebrows at national title game
College football fans watching Alabama versus Georgia in the national championship game had a lot to say about Andrew Luck. The former Colts quarterback was in Indianapolis for the big game but looked quite a bit different than he did at his retirement in 2019.
Not only did Luck look older, sporting a mustache and unshaven face, he also looked like he’s lost weight. The former Cardinal quarterback was 235 pounds in his playing days but looked shy of 200 on Monday night.
