Andrew Luck has kept a low profile since retiring from the NFL in 2019. He shared what he’s been up to prior to Monday night’s national championship.

During an interview with ESPN analysts Joe Tessitore and Robert Griffin III, Luck confirmed where he’s been the last few years.

“Full-time daddy duty,” Luck said. “It’s been a complete joy.”

Can you blame him?

Luck also shared some advice for Alabama and Georgia players ahead of the national championship, which kicks off at 8 p.m. ET. He kept it simple.

“Certainly, limit turnovers. I think that’s the biggest factor in winning and losing games. And enjoy the moment.”

The No. 1 overall pick in 2012, Luck played for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL until 2018. In 2019 — at the age of 29 — he abruptly retired from football after winning 2018 Comeback Player of the Year.

He starred at Stanford from 2008-11 under Jim Harbaugh and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting in 2010 and 2011. While with the Cardinal, Luck threw for 9,430 yards and 82 touchdowns over three years of eligibility.

Those numbers earned him a place in the College Football Hall of Fame, which announced its Class of 2022 on Monday. Tessitore asked Luck to capture the moment, and it seemed like he was still processing everything.

“It’s hard to capture it,” Luck said. “[An] amazing honor, so happy to share it with Stanford. It’s meant so much to me while I was there and since then. Great coaches, especially the players and teammates. I think football is the ultimate expression of team and team sport. Teammates give you so, so much. I’m so thrilled, especially the Class of 2012, Stanford University.”

Luck and the rest of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022 will be inducted on Dec. 6 in Atlanta. Before that, though, he’ll watch No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Georgia play for a national title on his former home field.
