Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor three-star tight end Elijah Washington announced on social media Wednesday that he has committed to the Syracuse Orange.

Washington received an offer from Syracuse back in May. He also holds offers from schools like East Carolina, Virginia, Rutgers and West Virginia.

He is the No. 716 overall prospect and No. 40 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 12 player in Virginia.

Washington currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $14.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Syracuse’s 2024 class ranks No. 53 nationally, up significantly from its 2023 group despite still sitting in the bottom third of the ACC. Norcross (Ga.) Wesleyan School four-star tight end Jamie Tremble is the sole blue-chip prospect committed to the Orange, ranked No. 294 in the On3 Industry Ranking.

Macon (Ga.) First Presbyterian Day School three-star quarterback Jakhari Williams is the signal-caller of this class. The top five commits of the group are all on offense, Millville (N.J.) three-star receiver Ta’Ron Haile and Michigan City (Ind.) three-star running back Jaden Hart joining Tremble, Williams and Washington.
