Head coach Fran Brown is looking to change the tides at Syracuse as he enters his first season at the helm of a program that has just three winning seasons since joining the ACC in 2013.

Credited as an impressive recruiter, the former Georgia assistant is seeking to build an impressive 2025 recruiting class as he gears up for the incoming season. Battling high-profile programs on the trail makes landing top-ranked prospects a challenge, so finding diamonds in the rough is always necessary.

If looks in uniform can help translate to play on the field, then the Orange have reason to be excited about three-star linebacker commit Antoine Deslauriers.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, the jacked Montreal, Quebec native went viral on Friday thanks to a picture of him on his official visit alongside Brown.

Back in February, Deslauriers dished on his backstory as a football player from Canada with Blue and Gold’s Mike Singer. He began playing football at the age of 10. “It was a sport I wanted to try,” he said.

Things picked up quick for Deslauriers. The Cuse commit also picked up offers from the likes of Florida State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Auburn, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Miami.

“I didn’t even know I could get offers yet,” Deslauriers told Singer. “Not many people in Canada get the opportunity to get offers like this. I didn’t really know what to expect; we don’t play the same kind of football back home.”

At the end of last summer, Deslauriers made the move to Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School. He impressed in his junior campaign, tallying 72 total tackles (18 for loss), three interceptions, three pass deflections, two forced fumbles and a pair of sacks in 12 games.

He committed to Syracuse on April 26 after visiting in March and again just a week before he announced his decision. Deslauriers is the No. 771 overall prospect and No. 84 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Brown’s 2025 class already features 19 commitments, as of June 8. Deslauriers isn’t the only pledge in the class that’s turned heads thanks to brawniness, either. Back in March, Cuse added a commitment from DeSoto (Texas) three-star offensive lineman Byron Washington, who checks in at 6-foot-7.5 and a whopping 400 pounds. Some impressive figures are being assembled in New York.
