Chris Bunch breaks down his decision to Syracuse
“I chose Syracuse over Washington and Rutgers because I feel like it’s the best place for me as a person, to get better and focus on basketball, but to also enhance my game and my branding,” Bunch said. “I’m just trying to hoop and I think Syracuse is the best place for me to come in and be an immediate impact.”

What does Bunch expect his role to be as a freshman?
“They want me to come in and work hard,” Bunch said. “They’re not giving me the starting spot…it’s there but I have to get it. Basically, just be a scorer…try to make me an elite defender in the zone and get me stronger. But really come in as a scorer, that was the main pitch. Just come in and score and do what I do.”
How does Bunch describe his game?
“The best thing about my game is that I’m an elite shooter, whether it’s off the catch or off the dribble,” Bunch said. “I can shoot the ball really well. I like to get in the mid-post and work. I’m a three-level scorer.”
What is Bunch most excited about?
“I’m most excited about preparing for the season, like getting ready to be in the ACC…definitely to me the most skilled conference in college basketball,” Bunch said. “Being coached by Coach (Jim) Boeheim, Coach (Allen) Griffin… I love those guys and I can’t wait to be somewhere where I feel loved and feel like they want me to be there.”
