Kyle McCord trolls Miami following upset win: 'You're welcome Clemson'
The Syracuse Orange took care of business on Saturday night, stunning the Miami Hurricanes and knocking them out of the ACC Championship Game. Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord was quick to tweet to Clemson fans following the 42-38 classic. He trolled the ‘Canes on Twitter, “You’re welcome, Clemson football,” McCord tweeted from his account.
Syracuse came back from 21-0 to cap off one of the biggest comebacks of the 2024 college football season on Saturday night. McCord finished with 380 passing yards and three touchdowns for the Orange (9-3 overall, 5-3 in ACC). Syracuse running back LeQuint Allen had two touchdowns and also got two crucial first downs on the Orange’s final drive, which allowed them to run out the clock. It marked the third time Syracuse beat a ranked opponent this season.
Miami quarterback Cam Ward finished with 349 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Hurricanes will be off next week, while Clemson faces SMU for the ACC crown. Miami was ranked No. 6 in the latest version of the CFP Rankings, but they’ll have to sweat it out to see if they make the final CFP Rankings.
Both teams combined for 983 yards of total offense and 51 first downs. The Hurricanes began their season 9-0, but have limped their way down the stretch, losing two of their last three games. Three weeks ago, they lost to Georgia Tech.
