2024 On3 3-star WR Syair Torrence commits to Syracuse
Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers Academy three-star wide receiver Syair Torrence is staying home for his college football career. Torrence announced Wednesday that he committed to Syracuse.
Torrence is not ranked in the 2024 On3 Consensus or the 2024 On300. However, On3 rates him higher than other recruiting services as a three-star recruit, according to the Industry Comparison. Per On3, Torrence is the No. 76 wide receiver and No. 4 player in New York.
“All I wanted to do was put the city on the map and that’s what ima do,” Torrence wrote in a statement published to social media. “I wanna thank my family and my coaches for getting me to this position.”
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound wideout is the first member of the Orange’s 2024 recruiting class. He also received an offer from Buffalo.

Meanwhile, Syracuse’ 2023 class is No. 94 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 14 in the ACC. The group is led by Florence (S.C.) South Florence three-star quarterback LaNorris Sellers, the No. 728 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus.
Torrence has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
