Syracuse center Eddie Lampkin, Jr. officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Saturday evening, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Lampkin figures to be a highly coveted big man prospect in the 2025 portal cycle. He averaged 11.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game this year for the Orange, while shooting 59.6% from the field.

Tipping the scales at 6-11, 265 pounds, Lampkin will be one of the bigger centers in the portal. In the second round of the 2025 ACC Tournament, the big fella led his team with 10 rebounds.

Eddie Lampkin spent just one season out West with Colorado, helping the Buffaloes make the NCAA Tournament and even win two games. However, once the run was over, he decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Lampkin played in 37 games two years ago with Colorado, averaging 10.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. He was in double-figures for all three of their NCAA Tournament games, spanning from the First Four vs. Boise State to the second-round loss against Marquette.

“I have nothing but positive experiences in Boulder,” Lampkin said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my skills, improve my fitness, and become a better basketball player and person. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I cannot return to Boulder. After talking to my family it was the best decision to transfer.”

The first three seasons of Lampkin’s career were spent at TCU, just a few hours away from his hometown of Katy, TX in the Houston area. TCU saw the center average 5.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in 67 appearances.

In high school, Lampkin played for Morton Ranch (Houston, Texas). He averaged 11.6 points and 10.9 rebounds as a senior. Lampkin also led the program to their first ever regional tournament berth, but the Mavericks lost in the 6A regional semifinals.

Morton Ranch was 27-9 overall and 12-0 in their district. Lampkin averaged 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists as a junior. As a prospect, he was tabbed as the No. 192 overall player in America and the No. 42 power forward in the country, according to the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2019 cycle.
