Syracuse flips 4-star WR Emanuel Ross from Stanford
Just days after an official visit to Stanford in June, Emmanuel Ross committed to the Cardinal. Over the weekend, Ross took an official visit to Syracuse and he has decided to flip his commitment to the Orange.
Syracuse offered the No. 304 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings before his junior season. The four-star wide receiver out of Red Bank (N.J.) Red Bank Catholic didn’t connect with the old staff. As soon as Fran Brown took over the program, Ross had a new interest in the Orange.
After an official visit to Syracuse over the weekend, Ross knew that was where he wanted to be.
“Coach Fran was in communication with me when he was at Georgia, so we already had a relationship,” Ross told On3. “As soon as he got the job, we talked more, then I spent time with him on the visit and I knew he was the kind of coach I wanted to play for.
“I got a feel for the school, I learned about the real estate program at Syracuse and Coach Fran is already shifting the culture there. The city is buying in, the players have clicked with Coach Fran and I left the visit feeling good about Syracuse.”

Ross believes in Brown
The education was big. The environment was nice. But this decision came down to the new head coach.
“I like Coach Fran and his style. He already has had a great taste of winning at Georgia, he is a winner and I truly believe he can create a winning culture at Syracuse.
“He is real, he is a man of his word and Coach Fran keeps it 100%. Coach Fran has that swag and he has what I was looking for in a coach. We are about to start a fun journey. A journey where we are going to win.”
While Jones was on his visit, Brown hired Ross Douglas to coach receivers. Jones and Douglas have clicked right away and the new coach has made a good first impression.
