Syracuse quarterback Braden Davis enters Transfer Portal
Syracuse Orange quarterback Braden Davis has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.
In two seasons with Syracuse, Braden Davis made appearances at both quarterback and wide receiver. That included making two receptions for six yards and losing 10 yards rushing during the 2023 season. He would, however, be much more limited during the 2024 season.
Prior to his time at Syracuse, Braden Davis was a quarterback for the South Carolina Gamecocks, though he never saw action with South Carolina. Now, he’ll again be looking for a new program.
Braden Davis played his high school football at Middletown in Delaware. There, he was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was also the 32nd-ranked quarterback and the 564th-ranked player nationally in that recruiting cycle.
While in high school, Braden Davis was the Gatorade Delaware Player of the Year and he was selected for the Under Armour All-America game. On top of that, he comes from a football family, being the son of former Tennessee Volunteer and first round NFL Draft pick Antone Davis.

Details out on UNC deal
2024 was the first season for Syracuse under head coach Fran Brown and it was a season where the Orange showed some legitimate improvement, going 9-3 in his first season as a head coach. However, when Braden Davis did initially transfer to Syracuse the team was being coached by Dino Babers.
The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opened on December 9th for the Winter Window. Players will now have the opportunity to enter the portal, take visits, and decide on what teams they’re going to play for next season. Teams will also have the opportunity to either flip their rosters or try and fill gaps they’re concerned about.
As for Braden Davis, he will have two seasons of eligibility remaining when he lands at his next destination as a player.
