2025 DL Floyd Guidry commits to TCU Horned Frogs
Spring (Texas) three-star defensive lineman Floyd Guidry has committed to TCU, he announced on Saturday evening.
He chose the in-state Horned Frogs while also holding offers from Houston, Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and others.
Guidry is the No. 712 overall prospect and No. 63 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 111 player in Texas.
“First and Foremost I will like to thank all the colleges that have given me opportunities, but I gotta go with my heart,” Guidry wrote in his announcement. “Seeing the Culture and Development around TCU I believe that can help me reach the next level.”
The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder is now the fifth commit for Sonny Dykes and Co. TCU’s class ranks No. 23 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

TCU vying for top-25 class in the nation
Guidry is the first commit listed on the defensive side of the ball for TCU this cycle. Headlining the class is San Antonio Claudia Taylor Johnson four-star quarterback Ty Hawkins, the No. 164 overall recruit and No. 13 signal-caller in the nation. Hawkins committed to the Frogs last June.
“I really like Coach Briles, Hawkins told On3 upon his commitment. “I feel really comfortable in his offense and I enjoy being around him. TCU is in a great area and I love the campus. Coach Dyles just led them all the way to the Natty so I know that I could go when I get there. I just really like TCU and could see myself there.”
Austin (Texas) Anderson four-star athlete Ed Small flanks Hawkins as a fellow blue-chipper, checking in as the No. 15 athlete in the cycle. Guidry now rounds out the class alongside Garland (Texas) Naaman Forest three-star wide receiver Chance Ables and Crowley (Texas) North three-star ATH Chris Jimerson.
