Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star EDGE rusher Chad Woodfork has committed to TCU, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He chose the Horned Frogs over LSU and Texas Tech.

Woodfork told On3’s Chad Simmons that it’s a “unified team” in Fort Worth and that “they all want to get back to that national championship.”

“They made feel like a priority,” Woodfork said. “They text me and my whole family. They did a great job with me. It was a great feeling getting recruited so hard by them.”

Defensive coordinator Andy Avalos played a big role in Woodfork’s recruitment. He’s in his first season at TCU after spending three years as Boise State’s head coach.

“I committed to TCU because of the player development,” Woodfork said. “Coach Avalos is great and has history. Then it is about the opportunities on and off the field and I see a great path to get on the field.”

Earlier this week at the On3 Elite Series, an educational seminar discussing the new era of NIL and navigating life after football, Woodfork broke down his recruitment with On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

“I took my first official to TCU a couple weeks ago, and they set the bar pretty high,” Woodfork said. “It was a pretty good visit. That’s a great staff over there, especially their new defensive coordinator, coach Avalos. He would also be my position coach, so that’s a pretty good deal.”

Woodfork is the nation’s No. 111 overall prospect, No. 17 EDGE and No. 19 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He ranks No. 49 overall and No. 6 among edge rushers in the 2025 On300.
