4-star QB Adam Schobel flips commitment from Oklahoma State to TCU
Columbus (Texas) four-star quarterback Adam Schobel has flipped his commitment from Oklahoma State to TCU, he announced on social media Monday.
“I have been a TCU fan since the day I was born and when they called, I quickly realized it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down,” Schobel wrote on social media. “An opportunity to play alongside my cousin at my parent’s alma mater… With that being said, I will be signing with TCU in December!!”
Schobel led his team on a deep playoff run as a junior. He threw for over 2,400 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior, taking Columbus High to a 12-1 record. His father, Matt, played for TCU before playing professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles. His uncle, Aaron, also played for TCU before heading to the NFL.
Schobel is the nation’s No. 241 overall prospect, No. 19 quarterback and No. 34 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He also ranks No. 218 nationally and No. 17 among quarterbacks in the 2025 On300.
Schobel is now the No. 3 commit in TCU’s 2025 recruiting class, just behind Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork and Brownsboro (Texas) four-star cornerback Micah Strickland. His pledge moved TCU into the top 25 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — up three spots to No. 23.
Two additional blue-chip recruits are currently committed to the Horned Frogs: Boerne (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Logan Schram and Austin (Texas) Anderson four-star athlete Ed Small.
