Former Old Dominion shooting guard Vasean Allette committed to TCU out of the transfer portal, according to a post on his Twitter profile.

Allette played 19 games last year in his lone year with the Monarchs. He finished with 17.4 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 3.1 assists per game, shot 45.2% from the floor and 35.4% from three-point range.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Allette was a three-star recruit out of Ontario’s Thornlea Secondary School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 54 shooting guard in the class and the No. 261 overall prospect in the class.

Allette wasn’t the only sought after prospect to commit to TCY this month. UNC-Wilmington forward Trazarien White committed last week.

The 6-foot-7 junior from Mansfield, Texas ultimately chose the Horned Frogs over Texas Tech, but also considered Baylor and Mississippi State. White averaged 19.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season, even scoring 27 points in a win over Kentucky earlier this year.

White, at the time became TCU’s sixth transfer addition, joining CJ Walker from UCF, Frankie Collins from Arizona State, RJ Jones from Kansas State, Noah Reynolds from Green Bay, and Brendan Wenzel from Wyoming.

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

The process of entering the portal is done through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database and everything is off and running. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request and that request cannot be refused.
