Former Texas Longhorns linebacker Terrence Cooks II has found his new home for next season. After entering the transfer portal in November, Cooks has decided to take his talents up I-35 N and play for the TCU Horned Frogs in 2022.

The freshman linebacker elected to jump ship less than a year into the season. Cooks was one of the top recruits of former Longhorns head coach Tom Herman’s 2021 recruiting class. Cooks failed to gain ample playing time this season for the Longhorns. He appeared in just one game for Texas against Rice. In that game, he did not register a single stat.

The 6-foot-2 freshman from Pearland, Texas, played at Shadow Creek High School, where he was a two-time all-district performer. He also helped lead them to an undefeated season in 2019; which culminated in a state championship.

TCU adds top wideout in 2022 recruiting class

Garland (Texas) High Consensus four-star wide receiver Jordan Hudson has committed to TCU.

Hudson is the first player to commit to the Horned Frogs in the 2022 cycle since Sonny Dykes took over as head coach. The news of Dykes’ hire was officially announced earlier on Monday.

Jordan Hudson was previously committed to Dykes and SMU before decommitting last week. He was also committed to Oklahoma at one point in the recruiting process.

“I choose the relationship and bond that I have with Coach Dykes and Coach (Ra’ShaadSamples,” Jordan Hudson told On3. “They showed me and my family unconditional love from the jump. That’s why I chose TCU.”

Mesquite (Texas) North Mesquite 2023 four-star wide receiver Cordale Russell also committed to the Horned Frogs on Monday.

TCU’s recruiting class now has four players in the 2022 class, Amarillo (Texas) Tascosa four-star running back Major Everhart, Arlington (texas) Mansfield Summit four-star EDGE Joseph Adedire and Monroe (La.) Neville three-star running back Ajay Allen Jr.
