Four-star TCU commit Hauss Hejny ends high school run with second straight championship
ARLINGTON, Texas — Hauss Hejny threw for 202 yards and rushed for another 77 as Aledo (Texas) High School overcame a slow start and cruised to a second consecutive state championship.
For Hejny, the No. 11-ranked QB in the On300 for 2024 committed locally to the TCU, it’s the second time in as many Decembers that the quarterback’s season ends with a title. Last year was Henjy’s first. This time, it marked his final game at Aledo.
“It was a little less nerve-wracking because we’ve been here before. Last year, I had the jitters playing in a big-time state championship game, but my senior year, I’m taking it all in. It’s not very often that a quarterback plays in back-to-back state championship games. I’m trying to enjoy the last minutes with my brothers, my best friends for life … This time, I tried to soak it all in and soak it all up with my team.”
“Aledo is special,” the four-star quarterback added.
Hejny completed 9-of-17 passes for 202 yards with two touchdowns. He added 77 yards on the ground on 16 attempts with a third score in the win.
Hejny deflected credit to his teammates and coaches.
“They pour more into this program,” he started. “Our coaches spend endless hours on weekends, weeknights, putting in hours. A lot of teams have more talent, but we’re blessed with great coaches and we’re a brotherhood.”

“These guys put me in a position to have success on Friday nights, and it’s awesome,” Henjy continued. “We scored 51 unanswered points, a product of coaches keeping us composed and everyone leaning on us and everyone leaning on each other.”
Hejny played his final game as a Bearcat. Next up is his first as a Horned Frog.
The No. 192 overall in the country is anxious about his fit at his dream school.
“I’m looking forward to getting a fresh start and getting in and working,” Hejny said. “TCU is my dream school. It’s been my dream to play in the Purple and Black, and I’m trying to make the most of it and do all I can do to help them. That’s every time you recruit a kid from Aledo — no matter what — you’re getting a kid who’s selfless, who plays for his teammates and does the right things.
“When I get to Funky Town, I’m keeping my head down and working, being a silent leader first and once I start earning the respect of the team, I’ll start leading,” he added.
