Hailey Van Lith led TCU to a win over Notre Dame in the Sweet 16 on Saturday, scoring 26 points. However, the senior leader of the Horned Frogs decided to heap the praise of center Sedona Prince when the game came to an end.

Prince scored 21 points, while also pulling down six rebounds, blocking six shots and adding four assists to her stat-sheet for the afternoon. She certainly controlled the paint against the No. 3-seed in the Fighting Irish. Speaking with ESPN after the game, Van Lith shouted her teammate out for the dominating effort.

“Sedona played huge today,” Van Lith stated, regarding Prince’s performance. “She dominated in the paint. She didn’t settle. She really got the win for us.”

That’s a ton of credit for Prince coming from Van Lith. Both have been essential to the success of the Horned Frogs in 2025, and they’re in the midst of a historic run for the program. That’s not lost on Van Lith, and she credited the camaraderie of her teammates for how TCU has been able to get it done.

In addition to the duo of Van Lith and Prince, Madison Conner had a heck of a game against Notre Dame. She scored 13 and added two rebounds. They were the only players on TCU in double figures, and the Horned Frogs needed every one of the points from the big three for the Big 12 squad.

Now, TCU will await the winner of either Texas or Tennessee in the Elite Eight. The Longhorns defeated No. 8 Illinois 65-48 in the Round of 32, while the Volunteers won 82-67 against No. 4 Ohio State.

After being tied at a dozen through eight minutes, the Longhorns would win 53-36 over the next 32 minutes against the Fighting Illini, including the edge they created in the second quarter, behind big games from Madison Booker (20 points, six rebounds) and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda (19 points, six rebounds).

Meanwhile, the Volunteers went to Columbus, the second time their school has done so in a postseason this athletic year, and, after being down as much as eleven early, came back in the second quarter and led from then on to win by 15. They did so behind double-figure scoring nights from Talaysia Cooper (19, eight rebounds, seven steals, five assists) and Zee Spearman (17) off the bench as well as Ruby Whitehorn (14) and Samara Spencer (10) among their starters.

Whoever TCU has to face in the Elite Eight, Hailey Van Lith, Sedona Prince and the rest of the Horned Frogs will be ready. They’re hoping to continue their run, no matter who ends up being in their way.
