Kirk Saarloos is ready to see his offense get going against the Kansas State Wildcats at the Big 12 Baseball Tournament.

TCU has been stifled by the Wildcats and their pitcher Colin Rothermel thus far, but Saarloos believes in the Horned Frogs to turn things around at Globe Life Park.

” I think this guy — Colin’s done a really good job of mixing pitches and getting ahead, really. He’s pounding the strike zone. He’s only got 48 pitches through four innings. You know, we’ve hit some balls hard at some people. It’s just a matter of finding holes,” explained Saarloos.

Evidently, Saarloos believes the early start, coupled with some impressive defense being played by both teams, has contributed to the lack of offensive execution we’ve seen thus far.

“Yeah, for sure. The nine o’clock game. I’m not a big fan of the nine o’clock game, but no, there’s been a lot of really good defense played today by both teams,” added Saarloos.

TCU may need more from their pitching on Saturday, and the Horned Frogs skipper believes they day off they had on Friday will be big for them this afternoon.

“Having the day off was really big yesterday,” added Saarloos. “We have some guys down there that we feel real comfortable with. Looking forward to Sammy going back out there and giving us one more clean one.”

TCU is looking for glory at the Big 12 Baseball Tournament, but Kansas State stands in their way. Time will tell if they can pull out the dub on Saturday.
