No. 5 2025 QB Ty Hawkins commits to TCU
Four-star quarterback Ty Hawkins of San Antonio (TX) Claudia Taylor Johnson announced his commitment to TCU Saturday afternoon.
The 6-foot, 195 pounder chose the Horned Frogs over Texas Tech, SMU, and UTSA.
Hawkins on why he chose TCU
“I really like Coach Briles, Hawkins said. “I feel really comfortable in his offense and I enjoy being around him. TCU is in a great area and I love the campus. Coach Dyles just led them all the way to the Natty so I know that I could go when I get there. I just really like TCU and could see myself there.”
Relationship with coaching staff
“I’m closest with Coach Briles and Coach Meacham. The first coach from TCU that I met was Coach Meacham. Since I met Coach Briles our relationship has been growing.”
Hawkins ranks as the No. 208 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 14 quarterback and the No. 34 player in the state of Texas.

On3 ranks him higher than the industry, as he ranks as the No. 56 player nationally, the No. 5 quarterback, and the No. 11 player in Texas.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $64K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
