2025 WR Dane Jones commits to TCU Horned Frogs
Pearland (Texas) Ridge Point three-star wide receiver Dane Jones has committed to TCU, he announced on Saturday evening.
He chose the in-state Horned Frogs over offers from the likes of SMU, Florida, Baylor, Missouri and Boston College.
Jones is the No. 636 overall prospect and No. 93 wideout in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 99 player in Texas.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound pass-catcher was in Fort Worth this weekend for his official visit and now joins a pledge list that ranks No. 1 in the Big 12. Jones is commitment No. 17 for Sonny Dykes and Co. this cycle.
Horned Frogs pick up another in-state recruiting win
The addition of Jones makes 13 in-state commitments for the Horned Frogs this cycle. The class ranks No. 21 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Two major Lone Star State standouts headline the class. Humble Summer Creek four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork is On3’s No. 49 overall prospect and No. 6 EDGE. He pledged on May 31, joining San Antonio Claudia Taylor Johnson four-star quarterback Ty Hawkins atop the class.

Hawkins’ commitment is coming up on one year ago, as he made his decision public on June 24 last summer. The Elite 11 finalist is On3’s No. 87 overall recruit and No. 9 QB in the nation.
Two other four-stars are in the mix for Dykes and his staff, as of June 22. Boerne (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Logan Schram is a top-30 player at his position, while Austin (Texas) Anderson four-star athlete Ed Small is the No. 15 ATH in the cycle.
“On one hand, I loved all three of the coaching staffs and schools, and they all put in a lot of time and energy into recruiting me. Which made it hard to decide, but on the other hand, the really important things to me and my family that TCU offers were a no-brainer,” Schram told On3 upon his commitment. “Overall TCU just felt like home, and after lots of consideration and prayer with my family, I’m all in and extremely excited to be a Horned Frog.”
Other top commits in the class include El Centro (Calif.) Central three-star EDGE Jared Martin, Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek three-star linebacker Anthony Williams, Columbus (Texas) three-star LB John Schobel and Benton (La.) three-star offensive tackle Witten Van Hoy.
