LOOK: TCU guard Mike Miles makes major announcement on future

Sophomore guard for the TCU Horned Frogs Mike Miles Jr is running it back next season. The six-foot-two guard out of Highlands, TX, announced his decision to return to the program for his junior season from his social media account.

“Coming back to finish what we started with my brothers!!#UnfinishedBusiness,” wrote Mile via Twitter. 

Over his first two years with TCU, Miles has been a consistent contributor in all facets of the game. He is averaging 14.6 points per game for his career on 39.4% from the field and 32.3% from deep. He is also averaging 1.1 steals, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game.

The numbers Miles put up in his sophomore season were slightly down from his freshman campaign, but we’re still pretty impressive overall. Last year’s miles average 15.4 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. Miles slight dip was in his shooting percentages which were 38.2 from the field and 29.5 from deep.

TCU announces extension for head men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon

Following a successful season for TCU that saw the Horned Frogs advance to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament, the school has given head men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon a contract extension. The new deal will keep Dixon under contract through the 2027-2028 season.

Dixon took the TCU head coaching position ahead of the 2016-2017 season. He immediately led the Horned Frogs to a championship in the NIT Tournament, going 24-15 overall. TCU then returned to the NCAA Tournament in the following year, losing in the opening round. The Horned Frogs went back to the NIT in 2018-2019, this time losing in the semifinals.

After a two-year postseason absence, TCU returned to the big dance this season. The Horned Frogs made the NCAA Tournament this year as a No. 9 seed, and defeated eighth-seeded Seton Hall 69-42 in the opening round. TCU then played well against No. 1 seed Arizona, but ultimately fell 85-80.

Overall, Dixon is 117-84 as TCU’s head coach. The Horned Frogs are 42-64 during Big 12 play during his tenure. Dixon previously spent many years at Pittsburgh’s head coach before coming to TCU. There, he compiled a 328-123 record, giving him a career coaching record of 445-207.
