Three-star Rockwall (Texas) Rockwall-Heath quarterback Josh Hoover was committed to Indiana for nearly six months. But Hoover had a change of plans on Monday, flipping his commitment from the Hoosiers to TCU and new head coach Sonny Dykes.

Hoover is the No. 535 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 30 quarterback and the No. 80 prospect in Texas.

“After praying and talking with my family I have decided that TCU is the best fit for me,” Hoover wrote on Twitter. “I am incredibly thankful for Coach Dykes and Coach Riley for the opportunity to play at TCU and the role they played in the recruiting process. Can’t wait to get things rolling in Fort Worth! Go Frogs.”

The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder chose Indiana in March over offers from Houston, Memphis and SMU, where Dykes previously coached. He opted to commit to the Hoosiers, though, and he appeared set to sign with them on Dec. 15. Dykes’ hiring threw a wrench into those plans, and the Horned Frogs now have their quarterback for the 2022 class.

Dykes and Co. have had a big few weeks on the recruiting trail since taking over, flipping SMU four-star commits Jordan Hudson and Chace Biddle. They also landed a commitment from three-star EDGE Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode. With Josh Hoover’s commitment, TCU jumps from No. 33 to No. 26 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

Indiana, meanwhile, which also recently saw quarterback Michael Penix Jr. enter the transfer portal, dropped from No. 22 to No. 29.
